Quarantine for a month: Do I get a certificate of participation?
Hello everyone.
Today marks my official 30th day of lockdown, I have expected for some sort of enlightenment but I am as miserable as ever. I recorded a podcast today with a page from Turkey on how everything is going what have I been doing and the general history of Venice Lockdowns and deadly viruses since the plague, so you can see that I had a rather positive day (!).
Today Tommy went for food shopping again, around 14:00 pm so we thought there wouldn’t be too many people, I am not exaggerating he came back like 16:30. First he was at the line to go in around like an hour. Everyone waits outside to go in in lines made of 1 metre separations. Then you wait for the person to come out, which lasts about 15 minutes or so, you are encouraged to do your shopping quickly, you are also given a glove to wear inside, meanwhile I can’t imagine the amount of disposable products.
I know the nature has been getting better and etc however most of the stuff used for protection is disposable from masks to gloves as there is no easy way of disinfecting these things in mass so I believe the plastic use must have jumped again along with “nature coming back to life” in the deserted streets. I don’t think this will be a complete cure for the mess we have done in over years but we are simply seeing a temporary change. We won’t be forgiven that easily by nature.
Any who getting new food in the house makes me really happy, at least cooking new things kind of spices things up for my life. Also today I started 2 new online courses. 1 is by UPenn, Introduction to Philosophy and the other one is the Science of Wellbeing by Yale. I think it is the best time to start that as it is like a 10 week experiment to find happiness again. I am currently in search for mine so this should help, and at least I don’t feel like this time spent in the house is a total loss.
Just an hour ago President Conte gave another declaration. I felt like I was witnessing a milestone in history. The press conference was done with press members that connected via Skype, a prime minister with face scarred from wearing a face mask, and having to tell its public some restrictions will be there until 31st of July, not necessarily the lock-down but the life becoming normal. Do you see the implications of just some people not choosing to stay at homes? All they had to do was stay at home…Thank you for reading today, it makes me happy seeing that I am not alone when you guys share your feedbacks.
Stay safe x
