Quarantine Day 28: Congratulations, you made it through 2020

Today wasn’t too bad, not at all. I literally say this at the beginning of each day then I break down towards night time. Last night I was crying while eating a burger with chips, watching Love Island and having some nice red wine. That’s my life atm. Tommy was quite surprised at my capability of crying and eating a burger with double cheese and caramelised onions at the same time. I am yet to find more talents I have during this quarantine.

Do I even need to mention that everyday the news headlines are like “ Record number in Italy'“. Literally, go back in the news and you will see for the last 5 days every day was a new record. Surely there used to be a positive connotation with the word record, but 2020 has been a strong force to change that word too. Record fire, record heat, record ice caps melt-down. Honestly next year instead of us celebrating 2021, it should celebrate us for surviving 2020.

I think it will rain later on today, perfect for reading some book. I currently have a bed side read for cheering me up and a human-history and all of our stupidities type of book for reading through my day. Yesterday there were some new rules implemented in Italy: no more food shopping on Sundays, and you can only walk 200 metres from your house with your dog. I am pretty sure some people have adopted dogs for just this reason. (jk).

I spoke to a few people today that told me the virus was now traveling to the south of the world as the winter approaches there soon. Which only makes me think even the house lock-downs are lifted, the travel bans around the world will continue for a long time. Me and Tommy talked about the fact that we will go to a far far away holiday as soon as life goes back to normal a little bit. What do you think will be able to within a year time? I will wait, I think I got used to it.

have a good day x
