Episode 5. Is perfection the reason for mistakes?

Life throws many curve balls and we don't always know how to hit it, and sometimes we completely miss it. Then we find ourselves beating ourselves about the mistake we have done. But where does this blaming psychology come from? How can we sometimes be so mean to ourselves that we blame our mistakes on our skills or capacity.

Believe it or not mistakes are not a static thing where it can be measured or by seen by everyone, so how do we perceive them? If we can perceive them how can we avoid them? From the ancient greeks to technology join me in a conversation talking about how to deal with mistakes and learn to avoid them.

  • 1-5 min: Perfectionism in Ancient Greek. Balance, Order and Symmetry. Aristotle has the earliest definition of perfectionism, and we present 3 concepts of perfectionism and along with that you will hear over and over again how I keep saying turd instead of third.

  • 5-8 : I explain the Renaissance approach to perfectionism which basically says perfection is imperfection. How you should stop being mean to yourself and learn controlling your expectations for your perfection. How we can use this for getting over mistakes? in Vanini’s eyes and in technology.

  • 8-10 : Is man perfect? Should he be? And HOW can this be attained? Approach perfection in an ethical way. Start seeing perfection as a process.

  • 10-15 : What is a mistake? Why do we make them? Fear plays a HUGE role on making mistakes and they can be addressed separately to avoid them. All the steps of making a mistake explained. How we mentally paralyse ourselves because of fear.

  • 15-21 : STOP THE TIME! and now continue because life goes on, so should your mistakes, leave them behind and take your chances. Leave the types of fears. How to address them and change the way you imagine.
